Learning for Life

Our Learning for Life programme aims to equip pupils with the skills and knowledge to become responsible citizens who embody the trust's values: Inspire, Include, have Integrity and Exceed. The programme provides pupils from Year 1 to Year 6 with a comprehensive range of opportunities aimed at deepening their self-awareness, understanding of their peers, and awareness of the border world. Our aim is to create confident, ambitious, and articulate citizens who possess the skills necessary to make significant contributions to society and enhance their individual life prospects.

The Bronze challenges are mandatory for all pupils, while Silver and Gold challenges can be completed in school or with greater independence, showing a higher level of self-motivation. If pupils complete the programme, they can earn the Exceed Diploma for Personal Development.

In addition to this, pupils who demonstrate significant engagement and impact through completing these challenges, can be nominated for the Exceed Ambition Award and they will attend the annual awards and recognition ceremony with other schools in the trust.

We provide opportunities for children to develop as independent, confident, successful learners with high aspirations who know how to make a positive contribution to their community and the wider society.  At Willow, we believe WE COME TO SCHOOL TO SOW THE SEEDS OF LIFELONG LEARNING. We have a high focus on developing children’s moral, spiritual, social and cultural understanding and all of the opportunities in our Learning for Life Programme link to an element of our SOW model.
