Intent

At Willow we provide pupils with the tools to develop sporting knowledge required to lead an active, healthy & balanced lifestyle that can be easily adapted for the future. Our curriculum develops a knowledge & understanding of fundamental movements, and how they can be applied to more physically demanding situations. We ASPIRE to develop enthusiasm and enjoyment of the subject by offering a variety of opportunities to excel in their sporting experiences through collaboration and healthy competition. Children develop an understanding of the benefits to sustained periods of physical activitythrough a plethora of subjects such as fundamental movements, expression through gymnastics, dance, invasion games, striking and fielding, outdoor and adventurous activity, athletics and swimming. Our ambition is to facilitate an environment whereby children develop a variety of qualities that can be used to lead a healthy lifestyle. We endeavour to inspire our pupils, facilitating their curiosity, allowing them to analyse their own performance and the performance of others with the aspiration of always improving. Our Learning superpowers underpin our curriculum, creating social environments that encourage pupils to investigate, collaborate & evaluate; all whilst embedding a resilient attitude to learning.
