With many children still remaining at home while others are going to be attending school, we are putting together a weekly document to try to ensure that all of our children are able to access the same learning.

We will put the document up every Friday for the following week. If you have any questions or need any help with any of the home learning, please email us on year3homelearning@willow.doncaster.sch.uk

Deafness Awareness Week

This week is Deafness Awareness Week in the UK.

Did you know there are many adults and children in the UK who are deaf or who have hearing impairments?

There are many ways in which people communicate, sign language is a way of communicating used by people in the Deaf community. Sign language uses gestures, facial expressions and body language. This week we are going to look at different ways of communicating, learning some signs and some different activities for you to do.

The Video below shows the alphabet in British Sign Language.

Year Three's Home Learning

Over the last few weeks, Year three have been very busy and it has been lovely to see what you have been up to while we are all keeping safe at home.

Darcey has done lots of art work during this time off, creating an art studio in her garden. This is a beautiful painting of Owl Babies, which is one of Darcey's favourite books.

Following our topic on Ancient Greeks, some of the children have written stories and information about the Greek Gods.

Angelina has written a great story retelling the Greek myth of the Trojan horse.

Orlaith has also focused on Ancient Greeks and has written some information about the Greek Gods.

Harrison noticed that on Wednesday 22nd April it was Earth Day, so he did some research and learnt all about how we can care for our environment.

Chloe has created a colourful, informative poster on our previous topics 'Tremors' and the Stone Age, focusing on some of the natural disasters we have learnt about.

Oliver has completed the art challenge set in Pack two. He has drawn and labelled his view out of his window. There is some great detail on there!

Inaya has also created a beautiful picture on Purple Mash for all of the wonderful NHS workers.

Holly has taken part in the Easter challenge designing and decorating an egg with all the heroes.

Harrison also took some time to think about who are heroes are and then made and decorated a policeman egg.

Lily has worked hard on a beautiful poster and poem all about a turtle she found on a bike ride. She has research facts and also related some of this to our amazing keyworkers.

Owen has shared some photos with us to show everyone the amazing life skills he has been learning over the Easter holidays. He has even made a fire using a flint, similar to how we learnt people would have done in the Stone Age period.
