This half term Year 6 are looking at Sustainability. 

Please complete one lesson per week.

Lesson One

What are everyday materials made from?

Why is recycling important?

In this lesson, we will learn about sustainability and what we can do to live more sustainably. We will investigate which common items in our households can and cannot be recycled.

Lesson Three

What is a life cycle assessment?

In this lesson, we will look at the sustainability of items based on their life cycle assessment and evaluate the use of reusable coffee cups over disposable ones.

Lesson Four

What happens when fuels are burnt?

In this lesson, we will learn about fuels and how they release energy in combustion reactions. We will also use word equations to describe these reactions.

Lesson Five

What is global warming?

In this lesson, we will learn about the impact of human activity such as burning fossil fuels on the global temperature. We will also interpret some data to draw conclusions

Lesson 6

What is climate change?

In this lesson, we will look at the impact of humans on the environment, We will interpret some data to make recommendations about how people should choose to travel.
