Information about School Meals during school closure:

What if my child is eligible for Free School Meals?

All children who are eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) will be provided with a voucher with the value of £15 per week from the start of the week commencing  6th April. Prior to this time, parents have been provided with either a packed lunch to collect from school or a Wonde Supermarket Voucher. Parents will receive an email containing details of their voucher.

What about infants (Reception, Y1 & Y2) that receive a free meal under universal infant free school meals?

The Department for Education Guidance states that:

"It is right that schools concentrate their effort and resources on those who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals at this time. There is no requirement to continue to provide universal infant free school meals (UFSM) to pupils in reception, year 1, or year 2 who are unable to attend school. Children in those year groups who are eligible benefits-related free school meals will be supported."

Therefore we will not automatically provide a meal or voucher for children who are in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 who are NOT eligible for Free School Meals.  If family circumstances have changed as a result of COVID-19 and parents are experiencing financial hardship, please contact Mrs Morley in the school office who can arrange an alternative voucher. This will be based on individual circumstances.

If parents think you are entitled to Free School Meals, because you have recently applied to receive Universal Credit,  we advise that you contact the Local Authority to make an application who will then inform school if and when you are eligible for Free School Meals.

Parents can apply via the Council’s website using the following link: https://www.doncaster.gov.uk/services/schools/free-school-meals or by telephone on 01302 735336.
