Welcome to Kingfisher Class!

Dinosaur Day

We had a fantastic day to kick start our topic on Dinosaurs. Mr Clayton from the dinosaur museum in Hull joined Year 2 for the day to show us some really exciting things. We learned about fossils and what they are, we did some fossil rubbing, made castes of fossils, saw a replica of an Allosaurus skull and many more things. A fantastic start to our topic

We've also had several children bringing fossils to show the class, which has been great. Georgia went fossil hunting over the Easter holidays and found this

Thank you for the children that have brought items in relating to our topic, the books on Dinosaurs have helped us greatly in our research.

Heritage and Community

We've had the pleasure of having Heera and Mohamed's mum come into class and talk to us about the countries that they originated from. The children have found this fascinating and have produced some fantastic work around this that can be seen in the parent show case (24th May)

A big thankyou form Kingfishers to Heera and Mohamed's mum
